Discover Eastern Europe!
HUNGARY, BAJA
Hungary is located in the middle of Central and Eastern Europe. It is surronded by 7 countries: Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Ukraine and Slovakia. People speak Hungarian language, though the official language of this camp is English.
The capital of Hungary is Budapest and Baja is located 160 km to the south of it. Budapest is built on the banks of the Danube river. Baja is also located on the Danube, not far from the border to Serbia.
Summers are hot here! Baja is also known to be the hottest city of Hungary with the most number of sunny hours in a year. The temperature is normally over 25 degrees C, sometimes over 35 degrees C. Get ready to get a tan! Make sure you bring lots of sun protection.
Luckily the river is right there next to the tennis club if we decide to cool off a little.

FACILITIES - THE CLUB
The Baja Teniszklub was fouded in 1980 and I am proud to say I have been a member ever since. It is located on Petőfi-island in Baja, Hungary. This island serves sports people: football, rowing, kayak-kenu, rowing, athletics, motorboating, gyms, skating, rollerskating, swimming, bmx and other sport are available here. Its location is as good as it gets: quiet, away from the big cities and traffic, in a large spot of green, with forests and rivers around. Sometimes we see foxes and dears by the fence of the club.
The Club has 10 red clay courts, well tended for and the club offers all the necessary facilities for an ideal summer camp. After tennis we spend great beach time on the river! It is well cared for and refreshing!
The club is also WIFI connected, so you can keep in touch with home from here any time.
During the last 5 years the club has organised numerous summer camps for all ages, so all the facilities were tested many times. We are proud to say that the Baja Tennis Camps have a growing popularity and a good name for their professional level and fun activities.

ACCOMODATION
The members of the camp are accomodated 500 meters from the tennis club on this same island in wooden houses. The houses are equipped with a full kitchen, bathroom, living room, TV and airconditioning. Each house has a living room, two bedrooms, 2 persons per bedroom.
The surrounding garden is enclosed and well kept, with outside cooking facilities, where some of the dinners are cooked. The evenings are around a nice campfire and enjoyed by singing and playing games. It is truely a hotspot for a CAMP!
The river Sugovica is less than 50 meters from the houses a small levy separates the lot from the river.

THE PROGRAMME
TENNIS
Daily programmes start at 7 with breakfast. Tennis players will be divided into groups based on their experience and level of tennis and assigned to trainers. The trainer follows the sport programme starting with warmup. Everybody's tennis will be evaluated individually and a professional trainer together with the camper decides what areas of his or her play need work. The progress is monitored daily by a checklist. We are going to write a camp diary which will include everybody's personal goal for this camp. At the end of each day kids evaluate their performance and check what they learnt that day.
Apart from everybody playing with the trainer, the intermediate or advanced players will play matches each day to develop a match rutine as well.
On the last day of the camp a Camp Championship is held in each group and there is a corresponding Awards Ceremony.
AFTER TENNIS
After the daily tennis programmes we cool down by the Sugovica river. It has soft sand beaches and is a natural riverbank full of summer life. One afternoon we have dragonboating organized for the campers and another afternoon we go te a close-by waterpark where many pools and slides are available for the campers.
